Merecedes Benz Plans to Expand Its Bus Business

Mercedes-Benz has recently announced that it has got plans to expand its bus business. According to this plan the company will arrange an assembly line that will serve to the production requirements of the city buses. Apart from the city buses, it will also serve the 2-axle and 3-axle inter-city luxury coaches which are already there. If we talk about the market for high-end city buses then it is to be mentioned that this market is quite beneficial. Mercedez has estimated the production to amount to 500 units per annum.

It is also expected that each year it will grow by 20%. Mercedes-Benz India has noticed a lot of potential in this vast market and is therefore thinking to offer certain solutions which are successfully used in the various parts of the world.

As quoted “Mercedes-Benz is the inventor of the first bus in the world and ever since, we have pioneered innovations that have revolutionized motorized public transport. In India, our 2- and 3-axle luxury coaches have been received very well. We would now like to expand into the city buses segment.”

Mercedes Benz is working on its new plan of conducting product clinics and is also planning to fine tune the buses according to the particular requirements of Indian city bus operators. The company has imported low floor and semi-low floor city bus for the product clinic.
