Nissan Micra, the much awaited compact hatchback in India which is all set to be rolled-out in the country on July 15th this year, is receiving an overwhelming response from the buyers of this segment. According to the company, it has managed to receive more than 1000 pre-order bookings for Micra in the Indian market in just four weeks since it began bookings. Cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Chennai are amongst the major contributors to this high booking figure.
The Nissan Micra model is already available for display at company's showrooms across India where interested buyers can book the car with an initial amount of Rs 50,000. It will be launched in four variants ( XE, XE+, XL and XV) in the expected price range of Rs 3,90,000 to 5,20,000 (New-Delhi ex-showroom price).
The company is delighted with this encouraging initial response. With the launch of the new Nissan Micra next month, Nissan will begin an exciting journey in India aiming to provide Indian customers with a full range of products and services. The company is confident that this booking trend will continue to improve as it moves closer to the start of sales by middle of July 2010, said Mr Kiminobu Tokuyama, MD & CEO, Nissan Motor India.
The launch of Micra in India will mark the debut of Japanese auto behemoth in compact-car segment which accounts for more than 70% of total annual car sales in India. As the competition is very tough in this segment, the company has decorated Micra with some unique exterior and interior features. It is expected that the fully loaded version of Micra will be equipped with a basket full of features including auto AC (climate control), ABS, fog lamps and security alarm, push button ignition and front passenger side airbag.
