Mercedes gets Indian "routes"; courtesy IIT'ian

Recently Mercedes Benz got a new state-of-the-art CGI technology introduced in its petrol version of C-class model. The heart that saw that vision for India is none other than an Indian. Bharat Balasubramanian, a Chennai-born IIT Mumbai alumnus is the man behind the introduction of this new technology. Bharat is currently positioned at one of the highest designations in the global R&D dept. of Mercedes Benz. He is designated as VP, product innovations & process technologies in group research and advanced engineering. On the proud moment of the launch of new Mercedes with CGI technology, Bharat Balasubramanian exclaimed that it is like coming back home to him.

He shared his experiences of local trains in Mumbai and how he used to commute from Churchgate to Andheri during his college days. Bharat graduated from IIT in the year 1973 and took higher technical education from the Technical University of Karlsruhe, in Germany. It was on Thursday, 13th May that Bharat's dream came true and India got its Mercedes with the new CGI engine. The new C-class CGI equipped engines have replaced the Kompressor series of cars in India.

On the moment of the launch, Bharat, an Indian at heart reveled the road-map Mercedes has for their development in India. The company wishes to introduce gasoline engine technology in the country. The IIT'ian mentioned that how he was always fascinated by the Mercedes Logo and wanted to work with the organisation since the years he started dreaming. Mercedes surely gets an Indian touch.
